In this project, we were divided into group of two and my partner is Tan Zi Cin. Basically, this project required us to choose on one side of family to interview so that we know more about our family history and produce boards according to the guideline. We decided to do on my mother's side. We were required to produce a graphical time-line calender with family tree and an infographic board representing my family culture and traditions. And also, a 10 minutes video of the interview and research that has been done.

Here is the video of the interview of my granpa, Tay Seng Poh.

In the video, he told us about the time when he joined the army and until he retired. He has done a great job in protecting our country.

Project Two : Project Runway

In this project, we need to produce our work in group and in individually. In group work, we need to conduct research on a selected movie. The movie we had selected was 'The Young Victoria'. We were required to choose a character in the movie and make a costume by ourselves. The character that I had chosen was Sir John Conroy. He played a crucial role in the life of the young Queen Victoria. He exerted tremendous influence over Victoria's mother and saw himelf as the future power behind the throne. During our runway, we wore our own costume and performed the short summary of The Young Victoria. Individually, we need to produce a journal on the character chosen.

Reflection:

The learning outcome intended for this project are to explore to the genealogy through research and analysis, and to study the change of human living from past to present. Through this project, I had learnt more about our family history included where we came from and how we move to Malaysia. Also, I had developed my skills in gathering information and synthesizing relevant information into a concise presentation. We set the interview questions before the interview session and after that only we edit it.

Project Three: Coffee Table Book

Reflection:

The learning outcomes intended for this project were to recall the development of Eastern and Western civilizations, and to demonstrate good documenntation and presentaion skills and enhance creativity through the practice of performance and role play. The objectives of this project is to examine the similarities and differences between Eastern and Western civilizations. Through this project, I understand more about England culture and England's history in Victorian age included what they wear, how they speak, and their political aspect. The process of making costume is difficult but yet it was fun. I learnt how to arrange all the useful information and make my journal more informative. It had improved my creativity as well.

For our final project, we were required to produce 10 pages of A5 photos individually and compiled into a coffee table book as a group work. Our group have chosen Penang and the theme for our group was 'A Walk Down Memory Lane'. My theme is Tranquility, and my small title is fishing village. My group members theme were Vintage (Vicky Lee), Indulgence (Sean Wee), Aesthetics (Felicia) and Faith (Tan Zi Cin). There are total of 13 photos that I had chosen which took from Clan Jetty and Teluk Kumbar Fishing Village. Also, we need to produce an individual journla based on our own theme.

Reflection:

The learning outcomes is to capture the essence of culture and civilization in the chosen site route, which is Penang. I learnt how to generate a theme and concept that suitable based on our site and photos. My photography skills is improved through this project. I learnt that a good photo can carry a certain meaning and feeling without any word. Just let the photo speak itself. Besides, I learnt how to plan and design the layout of our coffee table book. In short, my creativity have been improved and I had learnt a lot throgh this subject. It was fun!
